Talad

About
Talad was established in 2018 to enable all parties within the global agricultural sector to connect with each other. The Talad App helps farmers find and hire farm workers. Additionally, it allows users to buy & sell agricultural related products and hire mechanics to fix machinery. Through the direct connection of all parties, Talad aims to reduce the cost of buying and selling agricultural related products and services. Smallholder farmers benefit from increased incomes, while mechanics and farm workers can increase their customer base.

Capability and features
Talad is a mobile phone application that enables farmers to find farm workers (manual labor or with machineries). A built-in notification feature will alert users about upcoming scheduled events. Farmers can also view up-to-date crop prices from different buyers to see where they can sell their yield for the highest price. Other features include the capability to buy & sell agriculture products directly to end users without a middleman, and an Online Agri Info Hub where farmers can learn up-to-date farming techniques, which help them generate more income and reduce pollution.

Farm workers can search for farmers in their area who are in need of their services, as well as mechanics who can fix their machinery. Land measurement tools allow users to pinpoint the exact location where the services should be provided while calculating the total area of the land. This gives both parties an accurate total area, which will be the base for calculating a fair payment.

Progress to date
Over 70,000 farmers, farm workers, and mechanics are already using Talad App, and the Buy & Sell board has over 3,000 products.
Talad App has been awarded “Best New Market” Award from National Innovation Agency of Thailand during the AgTech Battle 2019.
